The Tampa Museum of Art opened its doors to the public in February 2010.  In such a short period, it has already attracted over 40,000 visitors to its architecturally alluring space and its distinctive art collections.  As a professional in the Tampa Bay area, we hope you share out excitement about this one-of-a-kind cultural destination located on our downtown riverfront.

The Museum is dedicated to presenting significant works of art from a broad range of media and historical periods, and translating these collections into meaningful educational and cultural experiences for our community.  To support this commitment, we have teamed up with Neiman Marcus, U.b.U Color Salon, local businesses and a committee of volunteers to launch "CITY", a unique fashion event.  On the evening of Wednesday, October 6, CITY at the Tampa Museum of Art will unite the best of Tampa Bay in a contemporary, urban atmosphere with fashion, food, music and shopping.  Guests will also experience all of the museum galleries, including access to American Impressionists in the Garden, the special exhibition coming this fall.  We are projecting over 400 to attend.

The Tampa Museum of Art will celebrate its fifth annual  Pride & Passion event on Friday, May 21, 2010 from 8pm to midnight. Admission to Pride & Passion is $75 for an individual ticket. Admission includes a one-year, individual level membership to the Tampa Museum of Art, as well as hors d'oeuvres and beverages, and live entertainment throughout the evening.  Event proceeds support museum exhibitions and educational programs. 

Each year, the event coincides with the kick-off of national Gay Pride Month and is designed to engage current and new museum members, along with broader segments of the community. Since its inception in 2006, Pride & Passion has successfully introduced new audiences to the museum, generating more than 500 new memberships with over 1,500 people attending the events.

Each month, the museum partners with area organizations, volunteers, and artists to present a new and exciting event that celebrates art, music, and entertainment. Admission is $10 per person, free for museum members, and includes a cash bar. Join us for our next Art After Dark on April 16, 2010.  The event will be held from 8:00PM to 11:00PM.  Dates and themes listed below.
